Jake Hughes fastest in BRDC F4 Silverstone test

Friday, April 26 2013

Lanan Racing's Jake Hughes followed up his impressive pace in the official Snetterton test earlier this week by topping the timesheets in testing at Silverstone today (Friday).

A total of 21 cars took to the famed Grand Prix Circuit in Northamptonshire, participating in four test sessions.

Hughes set a time of 2m05.237s in the second session of the day to finish ahead of Mexican Diego Menchaca and Jake Dalton, both competing with Mark Godwin Racing.

Matt Bell was fourth quickest in his privately entered machine, ahead of Sean Walkinshaw Racing's Matthew Graham and HHC's Charlie Robertson in sixth.

Seb Morris was seventh for Hillspeed ahead of Douglas Motorsport's Sennan Fielding. Raoul Hyman was ninth for HHC with Jack Barlow rounding out the top-10 for Sean Walkinshaw Racing.

Speaking afterwards Hughes said: "It's good to go into qualifying knowing you're up there ready to challenge. You couldn't wish for any better and it builds your confidence if you needed any, which I don't think I needed anyway. It's always nice though and I think it will put me in good stead for tomorrow."
