2013 F4 driver Charlie Robertson wins Ginetta Junior Championship

Monday, October 22 2012

Charlie Robertson, who will race in the BRDC Formula 4 Championship next year with HHC, rounded off a superb second season in the Ginetta Junior Championship last weekend by securing the title honours during the season finale at Brands Hatch.

The Scottish-born 15 year old, who lives in Whyteleafe, Surrey, was the first driver to sign up to F4 - just hours after applications first opened. After finishing as runner-up in the Ginetta series last year, Robertson dominated the 2012 season by recording an impressive tally of six wins and 13 podiums. He finally clinched victory during the penultimate race of the season at the legendary Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

The result also gives his HHC Motorsport team their first title victory with the two hoping to continue the winning partnership into next year.

Robertson said: "To end the year as champion is overwhelming, I couldn't have asked for any more. To finish the year on the podium with the title won is a fantastic feeling and a big reward for the team as well who have worked so hard all season and given me a great car."

He added: "I've got to say a big thank you to my sponsors, Investigo and Ria Capital Markets, and my Mum, Dad and family - I couldn't have done it without their support. I also want to thank the guys at HHC and also everyone at Ginetta, I've had two fantastic years in Juniors and learnt a huge amount."
