Huge entry list for HSCC Superprix this weekend

Thursday, June 28 2012

A huge entry list of over 380 cars has been confirmed for this weekend's (30 June/1 July) HSCC Superprix on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit.

12 series will race this weekend, with at least 20 cars in each race, the biggest grid being a 48 car extravaganza for the HSCC Guards Trophy for 1960s GT and sports cars. Machines competing in this event include Chevrons, Jaguars, Porsches and Lotuses.

A total of 31 vehicles will feature in the Derek Bell Trophy Race for 1970s and 80s Formula One, Formula Two and Formula 5000 cars, including a Tyrrell 006, and a McLaren M26 and Hesketh 308 (as driven by James Hunt). Other F1 cars set to feature include an Ensign N177 and a Surtees TS9.

A bumper field of 39 cars is anticipated for the Classic Formula Three races, with a strong field of European entrants including ex F1 driver Paolo Barilla and a large contingent of Ralt RT3s.

In the Historic Formula Two event, a rare Pygmee MDB17 will take to the track amongst a 30 car field, while over 40 machines will compete in the Historic Touring Car Championship.

A demonstration of Formula One machinery will take place on Sunday at 13.10 including two Benettons from 1990 and 1992 that were campaigned by World Champions Nelson Piquet and Michael Schumacher, and Piquet's 1988 Lotus 101T.
