Night racing title decider to end Brands Hatch season in style

Sunday, November 13 2011

This Saturday (19 November) Brands Hatch completes a busy 2011 season with a raceday that provides something for everyone. From Smart cars to Ferraris, the racing runs from dawn till dusk!

This is the final chance for spectators to get their racing fix until next year and to extend the entertainment, the racing will finish at 18:30. This gives fans the race chance to see night racing at Brands Hatch, which is a spectacle in itself. Whilst the pitlane is floodlit, lending a unique atmosphere, much of the track is shrouded in darkness, bringing a flavour of Le Mans to Kent.

The traditional Britcar 'Into the night' race will provide the fun as daylight fades, and has been extended to three hours, starting at 15:27, as the 2011 British Endurance Championship title is decided. There is sure to be plenty of drama as Craig Wilkins and Aaron Scott bid for overall honours in their Dodge Viper. However the Top Cats Racing Marcos Mantis is ready to challenge in the three hour race where anything can happen. Porsches, Moslers, Chevrons and Ferraris also feature on the entry list.

There's also a race within a race as the Production GTN Championship will also be decided in a two-hour encounter that starts at the same time as the main event. The title for this is even closer as SEAT drivers Alex Osbourn and James May hold a slender lead of three points over Tim Saunders, who competes in a Honda Civic Type-R, whilst Lotus Elise competitors Simon Phillips and Pete Storey are also in contention.

Before the main event, the support bill includes the Smart 4two Cup, a series for the diminutive city cars that provides close, competitive racing. With further entertainment provided by two sprint races for Saloon cars and the Britcar Production Cup, this is a meeting that will provide plenty to remember throughout the winter months!

Tickets for the Britcar into the night race at Brands Hatch on Saturday 19 November are available in advance for £10 online, with free entry for children aged under 13. For more information, call 0843 453 9000 or click here.
