Top Hat and Masters historic racing to make Oulton Park debut in 2011

Thursday, January 20 2011

Fans of historic racing have another event to look forward to at Oulton Park, after it was announced that Top Hat historic racing will make its Oulton Park debut this year. The opening historic race meeting in the UK for 2011 will take place at the fabulous Cheshire circuit on March 12th.

The event, which will form the opening Top Hat will run races for Masters Pre-66 Saloons, 1950s Oldies but Goldies including Jaguar XKs, a 1970s Celebration race for touring cars and GT cars plus grids for World Sportscar Masters and Gentlemen Drivers (including Cloth Cap sports cars).

Top Hat Event Manager James Beckett said: "We are delighted that we can start our season with a Masters first - our debut at Oulton Park.

"Many Masters competitors never get the chance to race here so we are really pleased that we can add something extra to their season, plus this will be the first historic race meeting of 2011 and is sure to be popular. By including World Sportscar Master and Gentlemen Drivers grids we are giving owners a rare chance to race at Oulton Park and giving Oulton's loyal fans a welcome opportunity to see these cars in action. It should be a great day."

The full Oulton Park calendar will be released soon, but several major events have already been announced, including the Oulton Park Gold Cup on 28-29 August. For more information call 0843 453 9000 or click the link below.
