Drivers, teams and fans hail Snetterton 300 circuit

Friday, February 18 2011

The Snetterton 300 circuit went live this week following an intensive ten week construction process to transform its layout, and drivers, teams and fans have already offered overwhelmingly positive feedback on the new configuration.

Track action was launched with a semi exclusive test on Thursday, with all drivers in attendance excited by the challenges of the 300 circuit.

"I like the new track - the infield section will reward a skilled driver," said Callum Lockie, who was driving a Mosler MT900 with Paul White. "I am really pleased that the Esses hasn't been changed."

"I love the flowing nature of the track," added Sarah Bennett-Baggs, who also stepped behind the wheel of the Mosler.

The new configuration was equally well received by motorsport photographers attending the day, who praised the layout's overtaking potential and the photo opportunities it presented.

"The new circuit is fantastic and I'm particularly looking forward to some of the longer races such as the 360MRC six hours and Autosport 3 hours," said Andrew Kitson. "There's plenty of time to walk around and take photos of these races at the many new viewpoints of a great circuit. Snetterton is surely now up there with the best in Britain."

"Absolutely brilliant," echoed Richard Styles. "I thoroughly enjoyed the day and was astounded by the number of excellent photo angles offered by the new layout. I was in my element! The infield section offers drivers and spectators a whole new world to enjoy. Congratulations go to Jonathan Palmer for his commitment to Snetterton and the massive amount of work put in by staff at the circuit. Well done to all concerned."

The first images of Snetterton 300, which are available through the official Snetterton redevelopment website, have also ignited excitement in several motorsport fans.

"I have been involved in various marshalling roles since 1969 and more recently as a clerk, and I would say this is the most challenging and yet still fast flowing configuration ever," commented Terry Scannel from North Walsham. "The circuit is absolutely fantastic. To anyone still sitting on the fence, get an entry in quick and make sure you are a part of something that will be brilliant: competing on what is now the best circuit in the country!"

"It really is a fantastic circuit and I think everyone will love it," Chris Yates enthused. "The layout lends itself to a great testing venue with some really challenging new fast corners."

"I liked the old circuit and I love the look of the new layout," said Carl Stredder from Slough. "I'm glad it's kept the best parts still. I can't wait to race there in March with the BMCRC."

"The track looks brilliant. It's going to be a pleasure to race round it!" concluded Deb Pettet.
