Bortolotti handed two-place grid penalty

Sunday, August 28 2011

Mirko Bortolotti has been handed a two-place grid penalty for today's second FIA Formula Two race at the Red Bull Ring for impeding another driver during this morning's qualifying session.

The 21-year-old had secured pole for round 12 at the 4.3km track but a post-session investigation by the stewards deemed that the title leader had obstructed Miki Monras on one of his flying laps.

Bortolotti will now start from third on the grid with Christopher Zanella promoted to pole and Ramon Pineiro in second.

Today's round 12 takes place at 14:45 (local time) with full coverage on the official F2 website.
