Eight champions to be crowned at Brands Hatch this weekend

Monday, September 27 2010

The British Motorcycle Racing Club stages its season finale at Brands Hatch this weekend (2/3 October) with several championships still up for grabs.

Eight championships remain open, including both classes of the MRO Superteens.

Tommp Philp is close to securing the main Superteens title, 88 points clear of nearest challenger Jake Dixon. 13 points will guarantee the championship, but Dixon is in supreme form and has won the last six races, but looks more likely to secure the Rookie Championship.

The MRO Supersport 600 and 600 Clubman Cup are also still to be decided, with Dan Fowler and James Phare the leaders.

Kelvin Hoare, Peter Haye and Martin Turner can all still claim BMCRC Rookie 600 honours, while Jenny Tinmouth could also secure the spoils in the TTXGP Electric Bike series.

Further action will be provided by Sidecars, with the BMCRC F1 and ACU Clubmans F1 titles still to be decided.

Riders from Powerbikes, Supersport and Stock classes will battle it out for the title of 'Champion of Brands' with Andy Weymouth, Tony Coombs and Jimmy Dye in contention.

As this is the end of the BMCRC season there will be several charitable activities taking place over the weekend.

Danny John-Jules, who played The Cat in BBC hit sitcom Red Dwarf will perform several demo laps on his infamous pink Yamaha R1 in an attempt to raise £1000 for the Kent Air Ambulance Trust who assisted Craig Jennings after he was injured during a race at Brands Hatch in July.

Sidecar Taxi Rides will take place during the lunch breaks to benefit the BMCRC Benevolent fund, as well as a 'ride-out' in support of Hospice in the Weald, and there will also be a charity pushbike race after racing has finished on Saturday, with proceeds going to the Medical Team funds.

Tickets for the British Motorcycle Racing Club at Brands Hatch on 2/3 October are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children ages 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
