BSB riders hail new Snetterton 300 circuit

Tuesday, September 28 2010

Snetterton is set to undergo a multi-million pound redevelopment over the winter following the announcement that a new three mile circuit will be created at the Norfolk venue, and leading riders from the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship are among the first members of the motorsport community to applaud the improvements.

The new Snetterton 300 circuit will include a mile-long infield section incorporating corners inspired by some of the most iconic features in international motorsport, such as the Parabolica and Lesmo 1 turns at Monza, Imola's Rivazza and the Montreal Hairpin.

Snetterton 300 will also offer fans outstanding viewing opportunities, with raised spectator banking around the infield section and a garden terrace area overlooking the circuit behind Tyrrells restaurant.

British Superbike Championship leader Worx Crescent Suzuki's Tommy Hill has already praised the redevelopment. "It is excellent to see that another UK circuit is going to be undergoing some real improvements, which will make it one of the best tracks in the country," he said. "I can't wait to see what it is going to be like once it is finished."

Hill's title rival Relentless Suzuki's Michael Laverty added: "This looks like it is going to be an awesome track and it is good to see that there are some extra left hand corners put in there, which will make the track safer as you will be able to get heat in the rear tyre. It looks like it is going to be super fast and will produce some great racing."

Motorsport fans can also help shape history by nominating names for the 13 corners that will comprise the new circuit formation.
