Brands Hatch remains in Festival Fever for a second weekend

Monday, October 18 2010

Brands Hatch is gearing up for its second festival in as many weekends as it prepares to host the Formula Vee Festival for the third consecutive year this weekend (23/24 October).

Formula Vee features single seater cars without wings or other aerodynamic aids and a minimum weight to ensure driver skill shows through. The result of this is spectacularly close and exciting racing.

2010 Formula Vee champion Martin Farmer will look to end his year in style with a win this weekend, although Autosport journalist Ben Anderson, who finished second overall, is likely to push him all the way.

The Festival operates a similar format to the Formula Ford equivalent, which took place at Brands Hatch last weekend, as drivers compete in heats followed by semi-finals and then a grand final to determine the overall winner.

Also featuring this weekend is the season finale of the successful Club MSV Trackday Trophy. This new for 2010 series aims to get newcomers into motorsport both on and off the track, and there will be an end of season party held in the Kentagon on Saturday night, featuring three up and coming bands from the Kent area.

Completing the line up is races from the Heritage Grand Touring Car Challenge, Sports 2000, Nippon Challenge and Silverstone Tyres MR2 Series.

Tickets for the 2010 Formula Vee Festival at Brands Hatch on 23/24 October are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. Alternatively fans can buy a special Trackday Trophy ticket priced at £5 which will allow access to the circuit from 3pm on Saturday, and access to the Trackday Trophy Party on Saturday evening.
