Sebastien Bourdais back in Superleague Formula

Tuesday, March 30 2010

Ex-Toro Rosso pilot Sebastien Bourdais has become the fourth former Grand Prix driver to sign for Superleague Formula by Sonangol in 2010, as the Frenchman has confirmed he will compete for Olympique Lyonnais this season.

Bourdais - who is also a four time Champ Car title winner - switched to Superleague in 2009 with Sevilla after being replaced at the Toro Rosso F1 squad by Spaniard Jaime Alguersuari. He made an immediate impact in the series, winning the Super Final shootout on his debut in Estoril before taking victory in Monza and a double podium in Jarama.

For 2010, the Frenchman has joined a home-grown squad in the shape of Olympic Lyonnais, which also made its Superleague Formula debut last season.

"Following the success achieved last year, I really wanted to continue racing in Superleague Formula in 2010," said Bourdais. "The single seater is really enjoyable to drive as it offers a lot of aerodynamic downforce and a V12 engine which delivers a lot of power, and I am obviously proud to race for the most successful French club of the past few years."

Bourdais will line-up alongside a trio of ex-F1 racers in 2010: countryman Franck Montagny, who will race for Bordeaux, Corinthians' Robert Doornbos and PSV Eindhoven's Narain Karthikeyan.

Tickets are now on sale for Superleague Formula by Sonangol on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on 31 July/1 August. Adult tickets are available from £24 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
