Anthony Davidson eyeing DTM deal?

Thursday, January 21 2010

Former Super Aguri F1 driver Anthony Davidson could return to racing in 2010, after the British star tested an Audi DTM car last week.

According to Autosport magazine, Davidson tested an Audi A4 DTM in Spain alongside drivers including F3 Euro Series competitor Mika Maki and former A1GP driver Filipe Albuquerque.

"I would definitely be interested in racing in the DTM," Davidson told Autosport. "They invited me to come and do the test and you can't turn down a company like Audi."

"I've tried very hard to get back into F1 and I'm still trying, but with the chances of finding something diminishing there I've decided to look at opportunities elsewhere," he added. "I've always wanted to drive a DTM car."

Audi is yet to reveal its full DTM line-up, although Britain's Oliver Jarvis will be given 2010-spec machinery this season.

With series stalwart Tom Kristensen retiring at the end of 2009, there is room for at least one new driver to join the manufacturer for its upcoming campaign.

DTM will make its only UK race appearance at Brands Hatch on 3/4/5 September. Tickets are now on sale from £25 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
