MG Car Club prepares for Cadwell Park challenge

Monday, August 30 2010

The MG Car Club visits Cadwell Park this weekend (4/5 September) for a weekend of thrilling action from the famous Midlands-based motor manufacturer.

In action this weekend includes the MG Trophy, a series featuring MG ZRs and the sporty MG TF and LE 500. There are four categories, A & B for fully race prepared ZR and TF/LE 500 cars and classes C & D for road-going versions.

The Drayton Manor Park Metro Cup provides dramatic racing, with bumper to bumper action from these little hatchbacks that offer competitive racing at low cost, and will provide great value on the undulating Lincolnshire circuit.

The MG Midget Challenge brings a flavour of nostalgia to the event for post-war Midgets and Austin Healey Sprites while there will be a grid of huge variety for the Peter Best Insurance Challenge, featuring anything from Midgets to modern day ZRs.

The meeting doesn't just cater for MG cars only though, and cars from Jaguar, Aston Martin and Triumph are expected to take part in the Thoroughbred Sportscar Championship alongside several MGBs.

Other categories in action this weekend include the Cockshoot Cup, the BCV8 Championship and the Equipe GTS, with the weekend rounded off on Sunday with an Allcomers 60 minute endurance race.

Tickets for the MG Car Club at Cadwell Park on 4/5 September are available from £10 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or click on the link below.
