BSB rivals ready for Bank Holiday battle at Oulton Park

Friday, April 23 2010

This May Bank Holiday weekend (1/2/3 May) the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship storms into Oulton Park as the battle to become the 2010 champion continues in Cheshire.

The Tarporley circuit is renowned for producing some of the closest finishes in BSB history, so don't miss over 30 Superbike riders going head-to-head this Bank Holiday Monday.

Tommy Hill leads the title chase after the opening two rounds for the Worx Crescent Suzuki team, but he is yet to secure a victory at Oulton Park during his career.

Hill said: "Oulton Park is one of those circuits that naturally produces great, close racing as it just has everything from the blind crests and undulations to the fast straights and tight chicanes. It is just an awesome circuit to ride and there are so many different places you can make a pass so there is normally some argy bargee during the race as we have seen a couple of times in the past!

"There will definitely be some paint-swapping going on because everyone is so close and every rider is really pushing hard to get the best results possible. I reckon its going to be a cracker! For me, my confidence is building all the time but I know that I cant get complacent as anything can happen. The Worx Crescent Suzuki team have worked really hard so now I am looking forward to getting back out there and try to keep winning."

Hill will face tough opposition though from HM Plant Honda's Josh Brookes and former double champion Ryuichi Kiyonari along with Swan Honda's Stuart Easton, who is aiming to score his first wins of the season.

Fan's favourite Yukio Kagayama returns to the Tarporley circuit in 2010 but first he has to beat the rival Relentless Suzuki by TAS team of Alastair Seeley and Michael Laverty in order to stand on the top step of the podium.

In addition to the two races for the MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship there will be a further seven support races including the inaugural round of the Harley-Davidson XR1200 Trophy. Fans can also meet their on track heroes during a free of charge pit walk and soak up the atmosphere in the trade zone or visit the funfair.
