BSB Evo Champion Steve Brogan performs first bike laps on 300 circuit

Friday, February 25 2011

History was made at Snetterton on Friday, when reigning BSB Evo champion Steve Brogan completed the first ever full motorcycle laps on the new 300 layout.

The track became operational last week after extensive redevelopment over the winter, and Brogan was joined by Motor Cycle News editor Marc Potter and competition winner Steve Mobbs from Norwich for the inaugural two wheel outing.

"To be the one doing the first lap was awesome," said Brogan. "The new circuit has been transformed and it will definitely produce more exciting racing without a doubt. The viewing is great and the fans will get an even better show at BSB in July as there are far more overtaking opportunities now and some places we can push that bit harder. I wasn't expecting such a difference and this will be one of the top tracks in the country now."

Marc Potter added: "You need a completely new mindset when you ride the Snetterton 300 as the first section is like a brand new track, but then it has still kept some of the best features of the original layout. It is a whole new experience now, both for riders and spectators, and the access will be great for viewing. The racing is going to be amazing here and Snetterton has now become a destination rather than just a track."

"It has been a fantastic experience and I want to thank MCN and BSB for the chance to be one of the first to ride the new track," competition winner Mobbs concluded. "It is a brilliant layout and I would definitely like to come back again for a trackday before the BSB round. I have been to BSB before but having seen the new viewing areas I think it is going to produce even better racing and I will be coming to watch Steve and the boys in action when they are really testing the limits on track."

Brogans full insight into the Snetterton 300 circuit will appear in the next issue of Motor Cycle News on Wednesday.

Tickets are on sale now for the first round of BSB to take place on the Snetterton 300 circuit, scheduled for 1-3 July. Online adult raceday tickets are just £25 and can be purchased by clicking the link below.
