Friday, July 12 2019

Visitors to Convoy in the Park at Donington on 10-11 August will be treated to a superb line-up of musical entertainment, courtesy of a number of bands including tribute acts and up and coming talent.

Saturday's line-up includes three leading tribute acts including the world's leading U2 tribute band, U2 2. The line-up have been performing since 1992, and are a true look-a-like and sound-alike, and have performed alongside U2 at the massive Feyenoord Stadium in Rotterdam. U2's own security team, who once accidentally led the band into U2's changing rooms, verifies their look-a-like qualities!

They have performed around the world and featured on national TV in many countries, and boast the very best in sounds and authentic equipment to replicate U2's varied back-catalogue.

Gary Goodmaze as Freddie & The Mercurys will entertain Queen fans, with a voice unmatched having spent 21 years perfecting his tribute to one of the greatest performers that has ever lived. With a full repertoire of stage acts, costumes and mannerisms, he is an uncanny tribute act and one of the most in-demand Freddie Mercury acts around.

The third tribute act for Saturday is Michelle Daniels as the Ultimate Cher. She not only has a strong physical likeness but also a powerful vocal range and strength to reproduce Cher's unmistakable style. Receiving race reviews for her performances, this is a top notch celebration of one of the world's most iconic pop superstars.

Complementing the tribute acts on Saturday are Lady Rose, The Luck and Petty Thieves. Lady Rose is an up and coming group from Nottingham, having recently won the Nottingham's Top Talent contest and recently released their latest EP, Journey, which has had radio play with the BBC.

The Luck are a brother-sister duo from London and offer countrified flecks of Indie Americana viewed through a British folk lens, and have their first album on sale from the end of July.

Petty Thieves perform across a range of genres including Ska, Reggae, Soul and Funk, with a natural groove oozing through each track, creating a vibe that puts a spring in everyone's step!

Sunday's music comes from a further three bands, covering another wide range of genres. Wilf & the Hullabaloo offers a mixture of warm foot tapping Roots inspired songs with plenty of catchy razzmatazz, plus bluesy versions of well known songs.

Duo the Pesky Alligators formed over 20 years ago and have since clocked up over 2,000 gigs, with twisting guitars and a raunchy drum beat that is nothing short of explosive.

Indie-pop band The Ragamuffins complete the line-up, and are renowned for their infectious grooves, chiming guitars, lush harmonies and catchy melodies.

The bands are just part of the epic off-track line-up for Convoy in the Park, which includes a huge amount of entertainment for visitors of all ages as well as a packed schedule of racing highlighted by the British Truck Racing Championship.
